Week 1 - First week at the MTC

Hey everyone! I´ve been at the MTC for a week now and it feels like i´ve been here for forever since we are so busy. We wake up at 6:30 and go to bed at 10:30 every day and we have like 45 minutes everyday to do whatever we want so it is pretty structured. It´s a little weird to have to be with your companion all the time and it´ll definitely take some getting used to.
There´s not much excitement over here at the MTC, we basically study, eat and study some more. Mexico City is crazy though!! Mexico was playing in the world cup on monday and we knew Mexico scored 3 times because every time they scored there would be cannons, fireworks, cheering, screaming and just tons of noise in general. It´s safe here at the MTC because we have a 15 foot cement/barbwire fence that completely surrounds the MTC. At night, we have to close all the windows because we´re in the middle of the City and there is tonnnnnns of honking and music and parties outside the walls at night. Fun fact, there are no stoplights in Mexico City. Driving here would be craycray.
Every day there has been a thunder/lightning storm around dinner time and the thunder is the loudest thunder i have ever heard. Sometimes the Thunder sets off all the car alarms in the city it´s so loud.
The food is amazing, and they have rice and beans for lunch and dinner everyday and they are the best. Learning spanish is really fun because it goes super fast. There are 11 other missionaries in my class and only like 6 of them have taken spanish classes before and they are struggling a ton because ever since the first day the teacher has only spoken spanish and i don´t even know if she can speak english. Luckily i´ve had 3 years of spanish or i would be completely lost. On the second day of class we had to teach a 25 minute lesson to a fake investigator completely in spanish, which was really stressful. Luckily we have Gym time everyday because it´s nice to have a break and play beach volleyball or kickball or basketball!
Another thing that is super stressful is on the third day me and my companion were called as district leaders and we had/still have no idea what we´re doing so that´s fun... There is already a lot of stuff to learn but we need to learn/do even more as district leaders. Anyways, the MTC is pretty difficult but it´s getting easier now, and i can already have conversations with the latinos so we´re learning really fast! We only have an hour to email so this is all i can say for now! i have pictures but i need to figure out how to upload them because the computers don´t ready SD cards. Later Sk8ters
