Week 67

This week was crazy and super fun! All the missionary`s who are training had to go pick up their new companions from the mission house. I got to see a lot of my old companions there, and it was fun to see all the new missionary`s. I still remember being a brand new missionary and having no idea what was going on haha. My companion is Elder Peterson, he`s in the picture with the mission president and his wife. He is a really outdoor-sy person and he`s really cool. He doesn`t speak or understand spanish, just like i was when i first got here, but i bet he`ll be speaking in no time.
Camila, went to church this sunday and is getting ready for her baptism on the 10th of october. It`s a perfect date, because it`s right after general conference. It`s also awesome for my companion to have a baptism right at the beginning of his mission. Although she can`t understand my companion yet, she`s a good sport about it and she tries to encourage him.
Also, Nadia, one of our investigadors that`s the sister of the relief society president, went to church and brought her boyfriend. They both liked it and we have a family home evening with them tonight!
I`m super excited to go to general conference this saturday and sunday, especially with the 3 new apostoles that they`re going to be calling.
Stay tuned for the next episode

Week 66

This week we had the independence week of Chile! We couldn`t really do anything this whole week because everyone was really busy preparing for the holiday and there was tons of people drinking in the streets. On 18 and 19, we were told to either be in the church or in the house the whole day because president didn`t want us to be in the streets with all the drunk people.
We spent a lot of those 2 days playing chess with the other missionary`s, playing basketball, playing american football, frisbee, sleeping, studying, etc. It wasn`t bad, it was just like having another p-day!
We also went to a ward activity and a stake activity for the partys, where we watched people dance the national dance of Chile ¨La Cueca¨, played sports, played some typical games like a sack race, and ate meat and empanadas (They`re like hot pockets) .
Camila didn`t get to church, so we rescheduled her baptsimal date for october 10th, but she is still progressing really fast. I have 4 and a half months in this sector, but my companion, Elder Truman, is leaving! Kind of a wierd change, but i`m happy. I`m still here in Calle Calle as district leader and i`m going to be training a new missionary from Utah, Elder Peterson

Week 65

This week we went to a baptism in the district, Cesar, and we were able to bring camila and Jovel to the baptism! It went really well and Camila is really excited to get baptized. Cesar, the sister missionary´s  investigador who just got baptized, is 23 years old and speaks perfect english. He also has been thinking a lot about serving a mission, so that would be super cool if he could do that.
One thing that`s kind of sad is one of the sisters in my district might go home and has to have surgery this wednesday on her knee.
This week coming up is going to be super crazy because its the independence week of Chile. The actual day is the 18th of september, but the chileans love their parties so the parties start today and go until the 21 of september!
For p day today we went to the top floor of a fancy hotel and took pictures, and now we`re going to go play chess and play piano in the house!
Here`s a couple pictures of the view
We went to a park to explore!

Week 64

This week i interviewed an investigator of the sisters in my district to be baptized, Cesar, and he passed! He is super ready to be baptized and he knows everything. The missionarys taught him really well. He has his baptism this saturday, so that`ll be awesome! Even better for us, because Cesar is friends with Camila and she`s going to go to the baptism. Camila still has the baptism date for september 26 and she`s progressing and learning really fast.
Last week we played basketball and american football with the zone because it was sunny out,. and this week, we`re going to go play some pool (Billards) and bowling with the zone because it`s raining.
I introduced Elder Luna, a missionary from mexico, to french toast and now he`s an addict haha
Anywyas, these are the updates for this week, later!

Week 63

We has stake conference this week, and we had 4 investigators there! Juan. Jovito and Raquel, and Nadia. That is a huge success, because it is really hard this time of year for the people to come to church because it`s super cold in the morning and always raining and the people don`t have cars.
We had 6 members leave with us throughout the week, and we had 12 lessons with member, which is a record for me. The members have been helping us a tonnn now and the lessons are so much better when we have that third testimony of a real member.
Camila has a date for baptism sptember 26 so we hope all of that goes well.
We`re going to play some football and basketball today with the zone to take advantage of the sun we have today, because it`s been raining every day for the past couple weeks.
