Week 6

I´m finally leaving for Chile today! I was just thinking that since we have about 100 or so missionaries leaving for Santiago Chile today, on the same plane, it´ll probably be the safest plane ride ever! haha

Anyways, this was a good week. I got to say good bye to all my friends, pack and relax for my last day here. Also, on friday we found a kitten with a broken leg sitting outside one of our classrooms! I don´t think we were supposed to, but carried it around with us all the time and it slept in our house until we could find someone to take it. One of our teahcers, Hermano Silva, ended up taking it to the vet and took it home with him. It was pretty fun because everyone would always stop by our classroom to see the kitten, we were famous!

I can´t wait to get to Chile and actually start my mission!

Week 5

I leave for Chile in 5 days!
The last couple of days here have been pretty fun. My district of 7 other missionaries live in a house by ourselves that can hold around 24 people, so we have a hugee house. The other night we took the other 16 mattresses and sheets from the unoccupied rooms and we made a giant fort in the living room and we´ve been sleeping in that for the past couple of nights.
On Saturday, it rained a tonnnnn again. Our streets flooded up to our knees and we made a slip and slide in the grass. We had a line of like 10 elders waiting to go on the slip and slide haha i´ll have to see if my friends have any of it on video!
It´s funny once you realize all the elders here are still kids inside and we want to have fun just as much as any other person would. I think a lot of people look at Elders and think they are kind of boring, very serious and very mature, but that´s not really the case haha as you can see by the slip and slide and the fort in our house.
It´s crazy how many of my friends are here. Kevin Sorenson, Cameron Cuvlier, Jay Drennan, Matthew Blaylock, Rachel Buxton, Emily Mangleson, Tatianna Eastin, Josh Higbee, Courtney Judd, etc. it´s kind of fun seeing them around and playing soccer/basketball/volleyball with them.
Anyways that was the excitement for this week!

Week 4

The days have been going by pretty quick, I've  already been in Mexico for a month! Besides Studying Spanish, me and my district have been doing some fun stuff like playing hide and go seek every night in the dark, playing indoor soccer with 4 goals instead of 2, playing four square, beach volleyball, and connect four.
I get bored in class a lot so I've  been writing all my notes and everything with my left hand so now I can write pretty well with both hands!
I definitely miss being home with all my friends and family, I can´t wait to see everyone again.
I can already teach most of the lessons completely in Spanish so I just want to get on the plane to Chile so I actually talk to and teach real people!
And sorry if I don´t reply to all your emails, we have pretty limited email time here in the MTC, I think I'll have more time in Chile so feel free to e-mail me there!

The pictures of the flood is basically what happens every night, it rains super hard this time of year in Mexico apparently.
That hole is where we buried 2 birds that ran into our windows this week and died, it´s funny because they didn´t even run into the clear part of the window, it´s a super tinted window that you can barely see though haha. we buried them in the hole and we made graves/crosses for them and you can see them in the picture, there are so many birds here!

Week 3

Holo from Mexico City!

I´m halfway done with my time at the MTC and i´ll be in Chile in 3 weeks! I ran into 2 of my friends from BYU, Rachel Buxton and Jay Drennan this week. And I also ran into a friend from back home in Seattle, Tatiana Eastin. It´s cool seeing my friends down here! Me and my companion are supposed to help all the new arriving missionaries today so hopefully i run into more of my friends.
The MTC is CROWDED now. This week we had about 26 missionaries leave and about 200 come in. We don´t play soccer as much anymore because the games always turn into 18vs18 on a small sized field since there are so many people, but we have other stuff to do like beach volleyball, basketball and Frisbee for Gym time so we do that instead. I don´t know what else to write because not too much happened this week, so i´ll talk to you all later!
